Welcome to ianjmalone.com, the online home of the Mako Saga and, well… me!  Whether you’re a fan of my work, another indie writer with a story of your own, or just a random sports fan who found me on Twitter, I’d like to thank you for stopping by.

So who am I, anyway?

First and foremost, I’m a husband and a dad.  In my spare time, however, I write sci-fi.  Why? That’s easy… because I love it!  My father took me to see Star Wars when I was a year old (God bless that man!) and I’ve been a total mark for speculative fiction ever since.  Thus, when the time came to pen a story of my own, the genre of choice was a slam dunk!

What you can expect

Naturally as an author, much of the content on the IJM site (as well as that of my blog and social media platforms) is devoted to my writing.  Alas, the Internet is anything but devoid of shameless plugs, so it’s my hope to use this network as both an information source and a service.  Cases in point, my “For Writers” page (a collection of links to various materials on writing and indie publishing), and my “Charities” page (a portion of all book sales support the causes listed there).

Speak up!

In short, whether it’s a character in my book, a link to a writing resource, or a fresh rant about the NCAA (what an unholy joke of an organization… but I digress), I just enjoy sharing fun things with likeminded people, and I want my presence online to reflect that.  Mind you, that’s only fun if it’s a two-way street; so if you see something that grabs you—a blog post, a tweet, an FB status, or whatever—feel free to chime in with a response.  I only ask two things if you do:

·       Keep it civil.

·       Have fun with it!
